Why tape?
Tape does minimal damage to walls and can be removed easily, making it a great option for renters or commitment phobes. It’s also graphic, bold, and versatile.
What type of tape?
Most often masking, but sometimes gaffer or foil.
What is the typical cost?
Each project is unique and will receive an all-inclusive quote, but the price is largely based on size and time to install. A 3’x3’ single-color design with minimal detail would be around $150. A 10’x10’ multicolor piece with a lot of detail would be about $600.
What does the all-inclusive rate cover in addition to installation?
Design time, correspondence, supplies, travel costs.
Why must I sign a contract?
To protect the artist from failure to compensate, and to protect the client from failure to complete the project.
How does payment work?
50% is due when the contract is signed and before work begins. The second half of the payment is due within two weeks of completion. Failure to pay within the two-week window will result in a late fee of 5% of total project cost per day late.
How does the whole process work?
We meet in person or converse over phone/text/email to determine the general idea, size, and location. A quote is given and the contract is signed. Julie sketches out initial design options then makes changes based on client feedback. Once a design is finalized, we will schedule installation, which is often split into several few-hour chunks.
Does the artist use a projector?
She prefers to work freehand, but if you’re concerned about exactness, she can certainly meet that need.
